At Calhacks 11.0 in San Francisco, CA, I played a pivotal role in developing a proof of concept for Snap Spectacles, aimed at revolutionizing language learning through VR/AR technology. Our project combined the immersive power of augmented reality with advanced speech recognition to create an interactive, real-time learning experience.
The idea was simple yet powerful: use Snap Spectacles as a tool to enhance language acquisition by overlaying translations, pronunciation tips, and contextual visuals right in the user’s field of view. As users spoke in the target language, the Spectacles would recognize their speech, provide instant feedback, and display relevant AR elements that helped reinforce learning.
